THE COMPANY

Contrak is a new and innovative Hong-Kong based company designing IoT solutions for smarter shipping containers, thus enabling players at every stage of the supply chain to better monitor their cargo during transport.

Contrak provides two complementary solutions for cargo management: the sensor system placed inside the container to collect data, and the corresponding application that allows users to access and monitor that data whenever and wherever.

In order for freight operators to provide better solutions to their clients, they need to improve the visibility, quality, and security of their containers. Contrak offers this capability by providing accurate, real time-data about a container’s condition, location, and environment directly to key stakeholders.

THE PRODUCT

Contrak develops and sells smart sensor kits to monitor conditions in shipping containers, including temperature, humidity, location, exposure, proximity to a magnetic field, opening and closing of the container door, and more.

The unit is installed in the corners of the container, and collects key data using sensors, which are connected to cables placed around the container in order to gather information. These sensors collect and transmit container data to a dedicated application that allows clients to access, monitor, and track container conditions in real-time.

Contrak's solution is still in the R&D process, and undergoing diligent testing to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

The crew is essentially divided into three primary teams:

MANAGEMENT

Responsible for partner management, operations, budget, and HR

TECHNICAL

Responsible for developing the product and application, testing the product against the user, and verifying that the systems are in working order using satellite communication

COMMUNICATIONS

Responsible for liaising between the company and its client base, and between the company and the suppliers of mechanical parts and components Often serves as product manager to convey client needs and feedback to the technical team.
